House: Making Tons of Progress

Posted October 5, 2009 11:36am ET

house-insideMelissa and I went by the house yesterday to see how things were progressing. Our good friends Wes and Sonya were in town (for Wes to run the Army 10-Miler) so they came along with us. I didn’t take any pictures except for the one here of Melissa taking pictures ;-).

She’s standing in our kitchen (about where the oven/range will be). As you can see they’ve put in a lot of our cabinetry. They’ve also installed banisters (though they aren’t stained/painted yet), most of the lighting, mirrors, and a bunch of other stuff. It’s really coming together. The electricity was actually all hooked up and powered, so the installed lights were all working. It also has a garage door and a concrete driveway and all that stuff.

The official estimate for closing remains ‘November’—most likely the latter half of the month. It’s hard to believe, but that’s less than two months away now. Once we have a firm date we can start making all the moving arrangements (…yay).

It looks sooo different then when I was there just a few weeks ago! Interesting how adding a few things like cabinets can really make a difference. I’m so excited for you guys! :)
