Scott Bradford: Off on a Tangent » Photos

Scott Bradford has been building web sites and using them to say what he thinks since 1995, which tended to get him in trouble with power-tripping assistant principals at the time. He holds a bachelor’s degree in Public Administration from George Mason University, but has spent most of his career (so far) working on public- and private-sector web sites. He is not a member of any political party, and brands himself an ‘independent constitutional conservative.’ In addition to holding down a day job and blogging about challenging subjects like politics, religion, and technology, Scott is also a devout Catholic, gun-owner, bike rider, and music lover with a wife and two cats.

Been busy since we got back from our Myrtle Beach vacation. We had a great time, got to hang out with some of my family, ate way too much food, played mini-golf, went to the aquarium, and more. I didn’t spend a lot of time taking pictures, but I did grab some on the beach [...]

Here’s another batch of photos I’ve been gathering over the last month or two (some of which you might have already seen on Facebook). I especially like the overly-restrictive bathroom sign demanding that I only flush toilet paper. What about the…ahem…waste material? Can’t I flush that too? I also like the ‘whole chicken’ package that [...]

My favorite is the derelict hat, left sitting on a highway, that the always-impressive professionals at the Virginia Department of Transportation simply painted right over [...]

Back in March I built Excelsior, my first home-built PC. It has been serving me wonderfully and I have no serious complaints. It did run a little hot since I’m always pegging the processor at 100% with my Boinc projects, so I added an aftermarket cooler and an extra couple of fans after the initial [...]

It wasn’t that long ago that traffic in the Northern Virginia suburbs of Washington, DC followed a pretty standard pattern. On weekday mornings, the backups headed toward the city. On weekday afternoons, they headed out of the city. On weekends, there wasn’t much traffic at all. Not anymore. Natural changes to the region’s character—namely, that [...]
