Scott Bradford: Off on a Tangent » Mobile

Scott Bradford has been building web sites and using them to say what he thinks since 1995, which tended to get him in trouble with power-tripping assistant principals at the time. He holds a bachelor’s degree in Public Administration from George Mason University, but has spent most of his career (so far) working on public- and private-sector web sites. He is not a member of any political party, and brands himself an ‘independent constitutional conservative.’ In addition to holding down a day job and blogging about challenging subjects like politics, religion, and technology, Scott is also a devout Catholic, gun-owner, bike rider, and music lover with a wife and two cats.

It is, however, open-source so it had the potential to live on. Well, I’m happy to report that Jonathan Dale has picked up development and the application will live on as Clear [...]

I very seriously considered replacing it with another BlackBerry but decided to give Palm another chance with its WebOS operating system. After Palm’s implosion, I ended up choosing Android.
Now that No-Nonsense Weather for HP WebOS has been officially discontinued, thanks to Hewlett-Packard’s stunning mismanagement of the platform, it’s time to look to the future. My earlier plan had been to port the existing NNW app to PhoneGap, a cross-platform API that would let me bring one HTML, CSS, and Javascript codebase to Android, [...]
