Lunchtime Robber Foiled by Bankers’ Hours

Lynchburg and Bedford both made the news!

A robber in Lynchburg, Va., had his luck run out when he tried to stick up a closed bank.

Tellers at a Central National Bank called police last Monday with the news that a masked man was trying to get inside the building, reports the News & Advance of Lynchburg.

Go figure.

The gentleman who was trying to rob the bank is also suspected of being involved with an earlier robbery (which was a little more successful) in Bedford County. Bedford County Sheriff Mike Brown was quoted in the article— “In the book of bank robberies, it doesn’t say you’ve got to be too smart.”
