Bush Pauses to Comfort Teen

I’ve been hard on President Bush about a few things (although not nearly so hard as the Democrats have been), but I do have a lot of respect for the guy. This article explains why.

Whether you agree with his politics or not, you’d have to be really dense or a simple idiot to think that he’s not a sincere guy who really believes he’s doing the right thing. You don’t have to agree that he is doing the right thing, but you have to believe that he really believes he is.

Some cynics will automatically assume that this was a campaign stunt—he’s on a campaign tour, after all—but I don’t believe that. Look at his eyes. Read what he said. This is for real. This is the real President Bush—a kind, friendly guy who’s had to make a lot of tough decisions.

You don’t have to like his politics or vote for him, but I would ask that all my readers at least have some respect for him. He deserves that much.
