Recurring Afternoon Slowness

Anybody who has visited this site in the afternoons over the last few days is probably aware of this, but the site has been slowing to a crawl between about 2:00 and 6:00 p.m. EST.

This is being caused by a problem with my hosting provider, PowWeb, and primarily affects PHP-based websites like Off on a Tangent (you may have noticed that Melissa’s site and the main Eeltank.com site [which needs to be updated] were mostly unaffected).

PowWeb is aware of the problem, knows what’s causing it, and is working on implementing a fix. The daily slowness may continue for another few days, but will hopefully clear up soon.
