Today is a simultaneous holiday for Melissa and me—it is Ash Wednesday (the first day of Lent) in the Christian calendar and New Year’s Day (for the year of the rooster) in the Chinese calendar.

Thus, happy Ash Rooster; ???? (Kung hei fat choi); etc.
