Happy Independence Day; etc.

First and foremost, I hope everybody had/is having a wonderful Independence Day (if you’re from the United States, anyway; otherwise I hope you’re just having a good day).

We’ve had a busy weekend. I had a bunch of car stuff to do on Saturday (oil change, alignment, car wash), we had church on Sunday, we had to buy a microwave and some bathroom stuff (towel rack, tensioned stuff holder, etc.), and on top of that we had to work on ‘thank you’ notes from the wedding, cleaning and organizing the apartment, devising a game plan for combining our finances, continuing to organize photos, writing a message up for the family website (maintained by my grandfather), and more.

We wanted to get as much done as possible because the next two weekends are all booked up. Next weekend we’re volunteering with our church at the Petersburg Urban Mission and then making a bee-line for Chris’s luau in Maryland (and we’re debating whether to pick up some tickets to the Stevie Nicks / Vanessa Carlton show at Nissan Pavilion on Sunday night). The next weekend after that, we’re in Bedford for various things. So we’re busy now and for the next couple of weeks, but things are still going pretty well. That’s all for now!
