Another Belated Update: Busy and Election Gear-Up

So things remain busy. We were out of town last weekend visiting family, which was a lot of fun, and things have been a little crazy at work. The good news though is that I got a new[ish] company IBM/Lenovo ThinkPad to play with, which is now successfully rigged as a dual-boot Windows XP & Ubuntu Linux machine. No more outdated desktop for me!

Melissa’s going a little wacko over her show this weekend (directions), but that’s par-for-the-course being married to an artist :-) . . . especially-so the night before. Luckily the clocks get set back tomorrow night and she’ll have an extra hour of recovery time before church on Sunday morning!

I’m also gearing up for the election a week from Tuesday. As I’ve done in 2004 and 2005, Off on a Tangent will provide election coverage along with live results (based on major media reports and official returns from Fairfax County and Virginia’s State Board of Elections) on all ballot issues for which I have made endorsements. Don’t forget to stop by and see who and what wins :-). I’ll probably stick to my same policy as last year: Coverage will continue until all winners are declared or 1:00 a.m., whichever comes first. If coverage is interrupted at 1am, updates will resume as time permits on the next day.

Your comments are always welcome!

Anyway, I have another busy weekend ahead but have a few half-finished writing pieces in progress that I might get finished up one of these days.
