Roger Waters and Reading Progress

I know, I know. I said I’d try to get back into the habit of more-regular postings, and I didn’t do it. I’m a bad, bad webmaster (lol). In this goofy political culture, anything any politician ever said or wrote in their entire life is apparently fair game for opposition mudslinging. I think both characterizations are false and unfair.

U.S. Senate, Virginia, 2006

In the race for the Senate from Virginia, staunchly conservative incumbent George Allen (R) is pitted against novelist and former Secretary of the Navy Jim Webb (D) and long-shot candidate Gail Parker (IG). U.S. House of Representatives, Virginia’s 11th District, 2006

In the race for Virginia’s 11th Congressional District (Fairfax City and portions of Fairfax and Prince William Counties), moderate incumbent Tom Davis (R) is up against Andrew Hurst (D) and Ferdinando Greco (IG). Davis is seeking his seventh term representing the 11th District in the House.

Virginia Statewide Ballot Issues, 2006

Citizens of the Commonwealth of Virginia will be voting on three state constitutional amendments on November 7. These amendments would each add, remove, or change text in the Constitution of the Commonwealth of Virginia. This year, they range from small, ‘routine’ modifications (Questions #2 and #3) to a major addition addressing an extremely controversial issue (Question #1).
