With the growing prevalence of mobile Internet browsing, I have begun testing Off on a Tangent in several browsers for smartphone platforms. Currently, I am providing LIMITED support for these browsers, but that support level will be increasing with upcoming site revisions until the site is fully supported on these platforms.
Katia II: MacBook Pro Arrives Today
On Friday of last week, recovering from all the Thanksgiving eating, Melissa and I placed an order for a new Apple MacBook Pro (15″). This is part of our master computer refresh plan, by which I get a new cutting-edge Intel-based Mac for my regular use (and cross-platform testing), while Melissa gets my current PowerBook G4 1.67ghz (15″) with which to run all her PPC-only art software.
End of Tackiness Alert
Today, November 24, is the day after Thanksgiving. Thus, it is no longer tacky to put up your Christmas decorations. Have at it! If you made the mistake of putting up your decorations early, you may compensate by taking them down an equal number of days before New Year’s Day (the official beginning of tackiness).
Website 18.2 Revision
Today I launched a minor revision to Off on a Tangent which brings the version to 18.2. These minor revisions are part of the site’s incremental improvement, and they often begin to incorporate styling cues that (if well-received) become a central part of the next major upgrade. Election 2006: Results (Final)
Off on a Tangent now projects that Jim Webb (D) has won election as Senator from Virginia, handing the Democratic Party a narrow 51-seat majority in the Senate. This final call concludes Off on a Tangent’s ongoing coverage of the election. Barring any major irregularities during the expected recounts, the results included in this entry should be considered ‘final’.
